Research planning & stakeholder engagement

After identifying the objectives of the project, the knowledge gaps in previous research, the needs for insights into audiences, products and touch points, and the constraints of the project, I create custom research plans to deliver the best value to all the stakeholders.

After conducting the agreed upon research, I present insights and recommendations to internal and external teams, highlighting the benefits of implementation, potential detriments of not doing so and facilitating discussion, prioritisation and decision-making amongst stakeholders.

Turn2Us UX research

I created a bespoke research plan for Turn2Us to improve the experience of users visiting the website, specially for benefits and financial aid information and presented the insights to their project and senior stakeholders.

Centrepoint user-centric experiences

I worked with Centrepoint to plan and carry out research in different areas of their digital engagement with users, from their website to digital service delivery, across different teams and stakeholders within the organisation and the website agency.

The Tutor Trust’s digital transformation

I created a comprehensive research plan for The Tutor Trust to kick-start their digital transformation, from their new website to other elements in their digital ecosystem. I presented insights and recommendations to their team and the website agency’s.

“In all of the times that we worked together, you were always a model of professionalism and a very competent and representative proponent of the ‘Dark Arts’ of user experience!”

Robbie Maverick, Digital Product Manager at The Tutor Trust, July 2024.

Formative & summative research

I have extensive experience using a vast array of stakeholder and user research methodologies, from planning and executing the activities/studies to analysing and presenting the insights and working across multi-disciplinary teams to draw recommendations, solutions and test ideas and prototypes.

Below are some examples of research methodologies I’ve used with different projects and clients throughout my career*.

Information, Content & Product Architecture

I have vast experience in mapping and improving all sorts of architectures: from information (IA), content and layouts to technical workflows, processes, product concept and prototyping.

I use a combination of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies and draw from my decades-long background in communication, linguistics and technology to help clients and teams architecture sitemaps, layouts, workflows and products ready to test with end-users.

Information architecture

From smaller sitemaps like the Dogstar Foundation’s to websites with thousands of pages and site merges like World Physiotherapy, I help clients find the best way to organise their content, maximise discoverability and reduce friction.

Content architecture

Through strategy, OKRs monitoring and iterative research, I work with organisations of all sizes to optimise the ways in which content is presented to users and make improvements to user engagement with calls to action.

Product architecture

I work with client-side, agency-side and third party teams to map out technically complex processes (like Resolution’s membership renewals) and products (like the Young Women’s Trust CV surgery) to deliver smooth and intuitive user experiences.

“Anna we loved working with you on the Dogstar Foundation website, thank you so much for everything”

Team leadership & management

In the last 3+ years of my career I’ve build a Strategy, UX Research and Design team from scratch, managing and mentoring 4 talented, multi-disciplinary individuals and achieving consistent success and performance above targets within my department.

As a manager and team leader, I create a diverse and inclusive environments where my team can challenge assumptions and feel supported and encouraged to do their best work. I pride myself in creating safe spaces for teams to collaborate across departments, bring experimentation and innovation to new highs, and learn from successes as well as from mistakes – always guided by business and personal objectives and big-picture thinking.

Team building and growth

From recruiting the talented individuals that are the best fit for the team to working with them to keep their and the business’ objectives on track, I’ve managed to create and grow a high performing, innovative and resilient team who always pulls together.

Team mentorship

I believe the first role of a manager and team lead is to uplift each member of their team. With that approach, I’ve worked one on one with each of my team members and facilitated a collaborative environment that fosters personal growth, upskilling and innovation.

Performance success

I use an approach based on Objectives and Key Results framework, data and one to one engagement to performance assessments. This brings structure to performance discussions, allows me to spot team needs early on and support each team member to succeed in a trust-led environment.
